I have been involved in radio most of my life. My first steps in Radio Presenting were in the early 80, s on a number of pirate stations in North co . Dublin. In 1993 I was approached by the management of St. Ita’s hospital and asked to help them put their Radio station back on air. Shortly after they advertised for a station manager, I applied and was appointed.
I had full responsibility for the day to day running of St. Ita’s Hospital Radio from 1993 to today. In November 2024 Hospital Management decided to let St. Ita’s F.M. broadcast license lapse and the station closed down.
All of the dedicated presenters on the station at the time decided to start their own online station and so HospitalRadio.ie was born. I still managed the station from day to day.
I present a number of shows, The Golden Years, where I play music and give the news and sport headlines from a given year and the listener tries to work oy what year it is. I also present Magic Moments which is an easy listening music show and my spotlight show where I play the music and give a little history of a specified Irish artist or band.
On Sundays I am part of the Solid Gold Sunday Team playing the songs you just won’t hear anywhere else All day every Sunday.
Hospital Radio has been an ever present in my life for over 33 years . I am dedicate to entertain and inform our listeners and to make the station sound as professional as possible .
